Wood Group secures £20m US contract

Wood Group (WGPSN) has been awarded the $31-million contract by Carbon Creek Energy on their coalbed methane asset in the Powder River basin in Wyoming, USA.

Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) will deliver operations management services to the field, which is the largest of its kind in the region, consists of approximately 7,000 drilled wells, 6,000 to 12,000 drillable locations and currently produces 385 MMcfgd.

Effective immediately, the initial contract is for 12 months and will be reviewed annually. Up to 65 new positions have been created and over 40 jobs secured by the contract, which builds on WGPSN’s 12-year history of supporting operators in the coalbed methane sector.

“This new contract strongly positions Wood Group PSN as one of the foremost providers of support to coalbed methane assets in the Powder River basin,” John Glithero, president – Americas, Wood Group PSN, said. “The management of services in unconventional oil and gas basins, including the coalbed methane market, presents a significant growth opportunity for us. We have the depth of experience and proven capabilities to deliver the broad portfolio of services required to meet the needs of operators working in this sector.”
