Limitless awards $78m Jebel Ali contracts

UAE’s Limitless has awarded a contract worth $78 million for infrastructure work at its flagship Downtown Jebel Ali mixed-use project in Dubai.

According to  the contract  UAE-based Arco General Contracting will carry out complete community infrastructure work – including roads, sewerage, utilities and lighting – in all four zones of the development, to prepare land plots for handover to third-party developers, said a statement from the Dubai group.

Mobilisation will begin immediately, with work due for completion by the end of 2017, it stated.

Commenting on the deal, CEO Mohammed Rashed Bin Dhabeah, said: “The award of this contract is a huge step forward for Downtown Jebel Ali. We are delighted to welcome Arco on board.”

Downtown Jebel Ali spans 200 hectares and stretches 11 km along Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. The project has more than 300 third-party plots, on which investors will build a mixture of apartments, hotels, offices and retail developments, said the statement.

Located between Jebel Ali Free Zone and Techno Park, the development is easily accessible from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Zone One can also be reached by the Dubai Metro, it added.

Limitless has already delivered The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, a fully operational, rapidly expanding business and retail community in Zone One. The Galleries currently features state-of-the-art office facilities and retail outlets, with residential units coming soon.
