Drake & Scull wins $33m EPC contract
Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE), the subsidiary of Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI), a regional market leader in the integrated design, engineering and construction disciplines of General Contracting, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), Water and Power, Rail, Oil and Gas, and Water and Wastewater Treatment, has announced that it has secured a AED 121 million EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract to design and install a chilled water distribution network for a prominent mixed use development in Dubai. The AED 121 million project win has helped DSI achieve AED 2.65 Billion in Total Project Awards across MENA and Asia, year to date.
Under the terms of the agreement, DSE will design and build an underground chilled water pipe network in the mixed use development which will feature pre-insulated pipes varying in sizes ranging from 100 mm to 1,200 mm for an approximate total length of 32 km. In addition, DSE will also deliver all related civil works with a scheduled completion slated for 2018.

Some of the major district cooling projects we are currently delivering in the region include the district cooling plants in Dohaland and Lusail City in Qatar and Saraya Aqaba in Jordan. DSE was formed through a strategic merger of Drake & Scull’s traditional MEP and Water & Power (WP) businesses under one specialist entity. Some of the key engineering projects being undertaken by DSE in the UAE include the Louvre Museum, the Fairmont Hotel & Service Apartments, the Jewel of the Creek, the Habtoor City, and the Mall of the Emirates expansion.
