Doosan Babcock win Abu Dhabi gas plant deal
Doosan Babcock, the energy engineering specialist, has signed two long-term maintenance agreements with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO).
The contracts are for five years, during which time, Doosan Babcock will provide essential maintenance and shutdown services at Abu Dhabi’s Habshan and Bab complex – considered among the largest gas processing complexes in the world.
Doosan Babcock vice-president for global service Steve Hunt said, “We are delighted to be working with GASCO again, and especially on such critical plants. Our focus on a long-term partnership approach to the maintenance and management of customer assets allows us to fully focus on their strategic needs, and is also proving to be a sound strategy for developing our business in the Middle East region.”
This contract follows on from Doosan Babcock’s provision of specialist engineering technologies for steam generation plant assets across all GASCO sites.
Overall, the contract represents a significant strategic step for Doosan Babcock’s growing business in the UAE, stated the company. Recently, its MENA engineering consultancy hub was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi, designed to provide a range of specialist engineering services to help customers in the power, water, oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial sectors maintain and extend the life of their plant.
