Amec Foster Wheeler win EPC Gold Mine contract
Amec Foster Wheeler announced that it has been awarded the initial phase of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Anagold Madencilik for the expansion of the Çopler Gold Mine in the Çöpler District, Erzincan Province, Turkey.
The value of the reimbursable contract has not been disclosed.
The work will include detailed engineering and procurement activities and the preparation of an open book estimate which will serve as the basis for the subsequent project phases. This initial phase of work is set to finish in late 2015, with the overall project due for completion during the fourth quarter of 2017.
“We are delighted to have expanded our involvement with the Çöpler Gold Mine”, said Roberto Penno, Amec Foster Wheeler’s Group President for Asia, Middle East, Africa & Southern Europe. “We look forward to drawing upon our global expertise in delivering world class gold projects, as well as our extensive in-country presence, to deliver this important project for Anagold Madencilik, safely and sustainably”.
Once completed, the Çöpler Sulphide Expansion Project will enable the facility to process 5,000 tonnes per day of sulphide ore over the planned 22-year mine life, in addition to the existing heap leach processing of oxide ore.
