Whittens secures new contract for Ichthys project
Specialist infrastructure, construction and services company, Whittens, has continued its work on the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities in Darwin by securing a new contract from Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
The scope involves completing the closing of the Temporary Construction Opening (TCO), and insulation of the ceiling and walls across four cryogenic tanks – two LNG, one propane and one butane.
Works started in April 2017 and are projected to take around 4 months, with a peak workforce of around 70, covering a spectrum of trades including Boilermaker / Welders, Concreters, Formworkers and Plant Operators from within our Services division.
Director Clayton Whitten believes this new contract provides a positive indication that Whittens, and its integrated services division is moving in the right direction for growth. He said, “The future looks very encouraging for Whittens’ Services arm, with opportunities increasing across a variety of sectors. I look forward to a continued solid performance throughout 2017-18 and appreciate the efforts of all those in the team and the support staff that helps makes Whittens the service provider of choice.”
