SSH awarded islands project in Bahrain
SSH has been appointed as Contract Manager and Site Supervision consultant by The Ministry of Housing for the construction of the Primary Infrastructure and Bridge Construction on Islands 13 & 14 (East) of Al Madina Al Shamaliya Islands (AMAS). AMAS is a mixed-use development project creating a new urban town located on reclaimed land off the northern coast of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al Madina Al Shamaliya Island 13 & 14 (East) is expected to deliver about 2000 housing units under an affordable-housing scheme by the Ministry of Housing.
This project located on islands 13 and 14, requires primary infrastructure networks comprising of roads of over 5.5 kilometres, installation of utilities such as storm water, potable water, electrical, irrigation and telecommunications network, along with the construction of vehicular and pedestrian bridges to connect these two islands.
SSH was brought on board following its knowledge and experience in similar projects, including the on-going widening and upgrading of Bahrain’s Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Highway, the experience and knowledge of infrastructure design standards and the requirements of Statutory Approval Authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
SSH is proud to announce that their regional head of infrastructure, Mark Jamieson and his team are based full time in Bahrain and while continuing to expand both resources and specialist capabilities within the country, has incorporated bridge design specialists into its Bahrain design team to cater to growing infrastructure demand.
