Drake & Scull win Dubai development contract
Drake & Scull International has announced that its Engineering subsidiary Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) has won a AED 290 Million contract to undertake MEP works for a high end luxury mixed use development project in Downtown Dubai, which is scheduled for completion in 2016.
Under the terms of the agreement, DSE will provide detailed MEP works, including supply, installation, testing and commissioning for the mixed use development. The project win raises DSI’s total project awards to AED 1 Billion in value in the first 4 months of 2015.
Ahmad Al Naser, Managing Director, Drake & Scull Engineering, said: “We are pleased to continue our positive start to 2015 by securing the contract for the prestigious mixed use Downtown Dubai development. The project award is a significant milestone in our five decade history in the UAE, which continues to be a major market for the DSI PJSC group of companies. We are delighted to have secured the Jewel of the Creek MEP contract and the AED 334 Million iconic hotel project in Dubai earlier this year. We look forward to a year of growth and consolidation across all our key markets. We are optimistic about the potential of Dubai’s real estate sector as it moves ahead with the Expo 2020 related construction activities. With our advanced engineering capabilities, regional expertise and nearly 5 decades of local experience, DSE is hopeful of maintaining its positive momentum by picking up more projects across MENA and Asia in 2015. We are also excited about the progress of the UAE’s urban transport projects, including Etihad Rail where DSE is looking to play a vital role.”
DSI continues to enhance and strengthen its services offering with unmatched vertical integration and global footprint. The company has been awarded a series of prestigious projects in the UAE in the recent past, including a AED 403 million joint venture agreement between DSI and Habtoor Leighton Specon for the Al Habtoor City and a AED 105 sub-contract with Khan Saheb Civil Engineering for the Mall of the Emirates expansion project in Dubai. DSI also won a AED 110 million deal for Plaza View, a AED 415 million contract for the Louvre Museum, and AED 233 million contract for the Fairmont Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
