BAM team bags €63m Belgian civils contract
BAM Contractors nv – an operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in the civil market in Flanders and Brussels – has won, in joint venture, a major civil project in Antwerp. The contract value is €63 million, of which one third is for BAM Contractors. The clients are Beheersmaatschappij Antwerpen Mobiel, the City of Antwerp, Aquafin and Rio-link.
The joint venture THV Schijnpoort is among other things responsible for the reconstruction of part of the Noordersingel, the relocation of the watercourse Grote Schijn, drainage works, constructing a screw pump, the reconstruction of cycle paths constructing new ducts and, modifying existing ones beneath the R1 ring road and redesigning the public space.
Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German civil engineering company also a member of Royal BAM Group, will undertake the construction of a number of foundation shafts for microtunnelling on behalf of the joint venture.
The works are expected to be completed by the summer of 2018.
