Summary

I am currently employed as the manager for all road movements within north-west Europe for the British Military. I am the subject matter expert and point of contact for all matters regarding normal road moves, out of gauge vehicles and large convoys within this catchment area. I ensure that all International, European and MoD legislation for the movement of personnel, vehicles, equipment, and stores, both routine and dangerous, is complied with and that all relevant documentation is scrutinised. My day-to-day tasks include: Manager of all time-critical tasks with regards to routine vehicle and convoy moves on public roads throughout North-West Europe; customer care coordinator, dealing with circa 200 requests per week; disseminating technical and legislative procedures for all classified and non-classified movements within my area of responsibility (AOR); maintaining close relationships with all Host Nation National Movement Control Centres; manage a team of geographically dislocated staff in both Peutie, Belgium and Wilhelmshaven, Germany; planning routes for out of gauge and convoy movements; applying for all special licences for all MoD vehicles to transit through my AOR; liaising with rail and shipping authorities to ensure special clearances and licences have been authorised in good time; attend all surface movement meetings relevant to AOR. The experiences gained in high pressure and arduous situations have led to an outstanding level of self-discipline and adaptability. I am a proficient manager, administrator and verifier with excellent proven organisational skills with an effective, proactive, diplomatic and tactful management style.
