- Design of modern control & protection systems using Numerical Integrated Control & Protection systems (IPCDs) and design of SCADA/PMS for distribution circuits and generator load dispatching along with rapid power based load shedding systems for industrial & power plants including switchyards control & protection for systems upto 400kV level.
- Front end and detailed design (FEED) of HV and LV electrical systems related to utility steam, gas turbine and diesel power stations, captive power plants with facilities for grid paralleling.
- Gained vast experience in the field of power system protection design and Electrical equipment selection/sizing/calculations (viz.Switchgear, Transformers, Motors, UPS, Drives, Battery/Charger etc).
- Able to analyze various aspects of protection requirements, selection of relays, application checks, CT/VT adequacy and setting of relays for proper system co-ordination.
- Able to carry out system studies specifically short circuit, relay co-ordination studies, load flow studies, under frequency load shedding studies, harmonic calculations, harmonic filter sizing, transient voltage drop calculations for motor starting, transient stability studies, reactor sizing for large OHL, Insulation Coordination studies, Earthing Grid Calculations, Lightning Protection calculations, Electromagnetic Transient studies etc.
- Able to design the project from beginning/scratch to final shape with Cost & Time consideration.
- Familiar with IEC61850 protocol associated with SCMS electrical system and electrical network and management system associated with various protocols viz. Profibus, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC, RS485, RS232 etc. Also, familiar with LMLS, IPCMS and EMS.
- Familiar with MS-Office, MS-Project, AUTOCAD, Labview, Test Stand, Maple, Mathlab, Mathcad, Protel, Visual C++, CYME, EDSA, ETAP, IPAS, PSCAD, RagTime, SEE4000 & Various Electrical system studies softwares as per the requirements stipulated in IEC, IEEE & ANSI standards.

Sabiya OCGT- 2 Power Plant Project, 540MW, MEW, Kuwait – Provided commissioning services managing Electrical, I&C and Mechanical (partly) for entire power plant of a natural gas/fuel oil fired open cycle plant providing a nominal 540 MW electrical output. The power island consists of two (2) Siemens SGT5-4000F PAC Gas Turbine/Generators(SGEN5-2000H), which feed exhaust. The plant fires natural gas fuel via Atlas Copco make 3 nos. Fuel Gas Compressors and fuel oil via GEA make Fuel Oil treatment/forwarding system.The project comprises of interconnection to 400kV GIS via cables, 381MVA GSUT, 350MVA Hydrogen cooled Generator etc. Project handed over to O&M after commissioning.

Sabiya CCGT- 1 Power Plant Project, 250MW, MEW, Kuwait – Provided electrical engineering review services for this EPC project which is to convert the existing Sabiya OCGT Plant consisting of two (2) Siemens SGT5-4000F PAC Gas Turbine/Generator units of 540MW to a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT-1) Power Plant by adding two Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and a 3-casing reheat Condensing Steam Turbine withTOPAIR Electric Power Generating Unit (TEWAC) of GE/Alstom make.Provided many cost saving technical solutions for effective engineering.

Working with the Project Manager to ensure that the project operation parameters are well understood and proven and serve as a commissioning subject matter expert (SME), project manager and Client Coordinator for Lusail and projects. Lusail Development project comprises 2 nos. of 66/11kV, 5x40MVA Substations and 3 nos. of 66/11kV, 3x40MVA Transformers and associated 66kV Cables and 11kV Cables interconnection. This is a Third Party Consultant Role to manage the Consultants and Contractors including engineering review and management. Involved with Technical Specification preparations, Technical Bulletin clarifications, Technical Bid Evaluation, Award of Contract to successful bidder, Construction Consultant Team creation/development, Site Land Handing Over package preparation, HV Cable route preparation, Co-ordination with Main Utility Owner, Technical Submittal Review and site supervision.
