Satheesh then relocated to Scotland in the year 1991 to work for John Brown Engineering Ltd in Glasgow as Project Engineer on several gas based combined cycle power plants, some projects involving advanced class gas turbine technology. A few gas based cogeneration projects were also executed during his tenure. (1991 – 1996)

He later worked for Scottish Power plc (now part of Iberdrola Group) in Glasgow as Project Manager in their Technology Division responsible for execution of large gas turbine combined cycle power plants. In the year 2002 Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) Europe acquired the Scottish Power Technology business and Satheesh continued with SKM until 2003. SKM is now owned by Jacobs.

In 2003 he joined Weir Westgarth (now VWS Westgarth) as Engineering Manager for execution of Desalination projects (Thermal and RO types) and offshore Water Injection projects.

Satheesh then decided to return to the power sector and joined Mitsui Babcock (now Doosan Babcock) as Engineering Manager in 2006 and was involved in FEED and detailed engineering associated with several large size supercritical coal fired power
plants.

After a long spell of nearly 18 years in the UK, Satheesh decided to return to India for family reasons and joined Tata Consulting Engineers in April 2008 in their Power Business Unit and was the Group Sector Head responsible for development and execution of Renewable Energy and OPEX projects. The renewable energy projects were primarily based on solar PV and CSP technologies. In the past he held responsibility for the entire Bangalore Delivery Centre operations (with approx. 450 engineers) and had also served as the Group Sector Head for Fossil Coal projects and Head of Process and Technology vertical.

Satheesh superannuated from Tata Consulting Engineers at the end of June 2017 on attaining 60 years of age.
