Summary

•Review of SI-PAM from previous shift to determine condition/status of each unit. Follow up on existing problems and progress corrective steps throughout the shift to reach resolution of problem.
• Identify priority -1 (i.e. affects power load generation to take urgent) action defects from previous shifts and Call out the standby team to finish the task.
• Issue Permit to Work and Safety Tags to carry out the required maintenance work – includes isolation of problem areas and perform electrical switching (i.e. 380V and 6.6KV circuit breakers).
• Review Control Room and Field Operators log sheets to determine if they were completed accurately and whether or not there are deviations from standard parameters.
• Walk down checking for general status of the equipment and overall readiness of the plant and identify safety hazards and violations if any, take appropriate action and to inform SEED department to find the solutions.
•Preparing status of plant and plan of action for Preventive, corrective maintenance activities.
• Supervise and participate in weekly testing of the black start diesel generator and Emergency Diesel Generator. Checklist preparation for the Black Start Diesel Generator and EDG,
• Participate in the plant start-up, normal operation shift down to facilitate maintenance works, includes ensuring safety, proper isolation, testing, etc. to ascertain the problem has been resolved, normalizing the unit and bringing it back on line.
• Communicate with NCC regarding load/production requirements.
• Respond to emergencies such as tripping, run back of unit, etc. trouble shoot problem and take appropriate corrective steps to normalize the unit. Report to Shift manager, operation manager and seek additional assistance as required.
• Supervise and participate in unit capability tests following inspection shutdowns.
• Participate in restoration of the plant after black out.
• Assist in Identifying areas of unsatisfactory performance and work with Department members to develop action plans and improve business processes, which will lead to an improvement in performance.
• Follow up and evaluate progress and performance of operators as a result of training, provide encouragement and or caution as may be necessary.
• Organize and supervise the activities and work of entire team of subordinates to ensure that all work within specific areas of activity is carried out in an efficient and procedural compliant manner.
• To manage the manpower vacation / training by approved annual shift leave planner.
• Communicate the requirement of operational procedures and instructions to subordinates and to prepare SOP’S to avoid faulty operations.
• Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls in site and every steps of operation.
