A Joint venture between ExxonMobil and QP, Qatar Gas/ RasGas, is one of the largest gas processing facilities in the world with annual production capacity of ~ 77 MTA of LNG. It has 14 LNG, 4 Sales Gas, 1 Refinery & 2 Helium assets. Associated products also include LPG & Condensates. Previously known as RASGAS Company Ltd Qatar. The merger of two biggest LNG companies (QatarGas and RasGas) happened in January 2018. The new entity, which is called QatarGas, started operations on January 1, 2018. Before the merger, Qatargas and RasGas were already the world's two biggest LNG producers. The combined company will handle all of Qatar’s 77 million tons of LNG export capacity annually sold through a mix of joint venture agreements with oil majors including ExxonMobil and Shell. I worked as a Specialist (Corrosion and Materials) covering all aspects of Corrosion, Materials and Integrity Engineering, for seven LNG trains, two AKG plants and offshore wellhead platforms of RasGas.
