Summary
After graduation with summa cum laude from Universidad de Camagüey, I started working at University of Havana, teaching Spanish to African students. It was a wonderful project between the Cuban government and some African countries. It consisted of teaching General Spanish to students from less privileged families in Africa in order to prepare them for their future classes of medicine in Cuba. It was a challenging year we not only taught them Spanish but also how to study since their educational backgrounds were very low. I also translated important documents from Spanish into English and French that the students needed after their arrival in Cuba. I also picked them up at airport and explained and provided necessary information they would need at our school.
After my experience in Cuba, I traveled to Fiji Islands where I worked as a Customer Service Representative for Swiss International Air Lines. There, I was able to sharpen and enhance my multilingual skills.
Then, my compass led me to India where I started working as a Spanish teacher at an international private school named RGM International School located in Hyderabad. I taught students from 6th grade to 9th grade. It was a beautiful experience, it was my first time in contact with such a rich and ancient culture.
I moved to New Delhi, and started working for a Spanish school named Instituto Hispania. The institute is the oldest private school where Spanish is taught in New Delhi. I had the opportunity to share experiences with foreign and Indian colleagues and we received training to improve our teaching skills.
Right now, I am working as a Spanish and English teacher in a Canadian worldwide famous chain of schools called ILSC Education Group with a branch in New Delhi. I have had the joy to exchange different points of views with foreign and Indian teachers. The languages offered are English, French, Hindi and Spanish. The latter is the youngest one. I had the honor to inaugurate the Spanish department and I am currently the Head of the Spanish Department. Our curriculum follows the precepts from Instituto Cervantes. We provide a communicative approach where the student is the center of the class. At ILSC, I have taught students from Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan and Mongolia.
I am currently undergoing a Master Degree Program from University of Barcelona, online version, in teaching Spanish as a foreign language with 90 academic credits.
I have obtained a solid experience teaching Spanish in Cuba and English and Spanish in India.
