Lead Safety Engineer
▫ Reviews and analyzes injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and works with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
▫ To record accident/dangerous occurrences & intimate to concern authority of an accident & do investigation with the concern authority to improve safety.
▫ Coordinates appropriate consideration of safety requirements with subcontracts, and construction personnel.
▫ Knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis, Accident Reporting System, First Aid, occupational illness and emergency evacuation.
▫ Encourage the prompt reporting of hazards & risks.
▫ Liaise with relevant authorities in respect to OHS Issues.
▫ Maintain accurate records and filing systems in line with Company and project requirements.
▫ Compile and analysis of work injury statistics.
▫ Keep up-to-date with developments in the OHS field including legislation, regulations, guidelines and best practice.
▫ Knowledge of the use of various Safety equipment like Lux meter, Noise level meter, gas monitors, Gin wheels.
▫ Conducts safety inspections/assessments of project construction activities to monitor compliance with applicable safety and health requirements including permits.
▫ Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace and undertakes surveys to evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions.
▫ Performs job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepares written reports and recommendations.
▫ Provides safety technical support and assistance to projects and coordinates safety requirements and formulation of risk reduction measures with project-assigned safety personnel, engineering, and construction and onsite ES&H representatives during construction.
▫ Provide advice, strategies and problem solving to project personnel on all health and safety issues to achieve the goal of ‘Zero Accident’ during the project.
▫ Promote a culture in where health and safety is a value that will never be compromised.
Assist the EHS manager in the implementation of EHS training program, including dissemination of information and control of documents by accurately preparing/drafting government-required reports using business communication skills and ethics.
▫ Assist in inspections, audits and analyzing data and records in a systematic and efficient manner, both electronically and in hard copies of all EHS departmental documents and communications e.g., Health and Safety policies, manuals, SOP’s, training programs materials, training schedules, monitoring data, permits and licenses, training test results, H&S risk assessments, inspections, audits, accidents and incidents investigations reports, etc.
▫ Assist with the maintenance of the EHS databases as well as generate safety reports.
▫ Assist EHS manager in the preparation of the EHS departmental budget and annual safety Report.
▫ Schedule EHS Committee meetings/coordination’s and events for EHS team, Coordinate and set up training
▫ Classes/maintain training databases.
▫ Preparing presentation for the weekly, monthly and quarterly meeting with senior management.
▫ Provides input on bid decisions, proposal development, and estimates with respect to integration and compliance with safety requirements.
