Mechanical Commissioning & Equipment Preservation Engineer

Primary responsibilities in TL/Supervisory/Coordination roles have been to lead teams of expat Engineers & Snr Technicians together with multi-cultural, multi-disciplined teams of technicians.
These roles have also enabled me to coordinate with various contractors, subcontractors and equipment suppliers, with experience at equipment factory acceptance tests, to ensure that the quality of equipment supplied, suitable tests and preservation requirements are completed successfully and to the clients expected standards.
My background is formally in ship repair and industrial maintenance industry for 6 years. From 1983 onwards, moving into the areas of, construction and commissioning for oil/gas (onshore & offshore), mining and power generation facilities.
I have a sound knowledge of most static and rotating equipment inclusive of various pump types, gas / steam turbines, compressors, diesel engines, pedestal cranes and also suitably familiar with piping/valve systems, flushing, hydro testing & a solid background in equipment preservation.
Experience with all aspects of construction and commissioning activities within the O&G industry, various documentation and procedural requirements, inclusive of writing and reviewing commissioning test procedures, handover dossiers, punch listing, P&ID’s, Isometric’s, preservation procedures, plans and processes.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have worked together with many professional colleague’s as part of construction & commissioning teams for various international clients at various overseas locations.
Possessing excellent HSE commitment and understanding of company and in country safety procedures, regulations and applicable laws, leading day to day safe work practices, being adaptable to the requirements for various project PTW systems and completions databases such as (ICAPS, WinPCS, QeDi GoC, GoPreserve & GoPlan, Thule & Pimms)
