Implementation and Mobilization of Event Source Group in Iraq – Both Camp Hotel & FOB Duke in Najaf DFAC Facility for the United States Military for the Eleventh Marine Expeditionary Force Unit.

SCOPE:
Build and managing the facilities at both camp locations in Najaf, and supply support for the United States Military.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
My role was contracted as the DFAC manager at two projects in Najaf in Iraq; Camp Hotel & US Military FOB Duke facilities that housed the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Before Najaf I also worked a short time in Baghdad International Airport Camp (Bob Hope) as the site warehouse manager, I was then mobilised as part of the advanced construction team, which set up both projects on each Najaf base site FOB Duke and Camp Hotel. We had mobilised material and equipment out of Kuwait to arrive at both construction sites Setting up the infrastructure and facilities for camp facilities. Please note: This was the first contract in the Iraq operations that was contracted directly to the US military in the whole of Iraq theatre of operations.
Developing and upgrading policies and procedures across the whole area of the DFAC facilities activities and camp environments.

The US government and US Defence department had set KPI which had to be maintained and reached daily and TB Med 530 was the process we had to manage and followed and documented. Using mentoring processes and training analysis organised training and re-training for staff.
Ensuring HACCP, Food safe procedures were complied with. Oversee daily cleaning schedules, quality control and safe work practices of chemicals as well as maintenance planning, repairs and environmental practices and waste management.
Management and supervision of all aspects of the day-to-day running of the facilities, catering for in excess of 4500+ personnel on site and staff of 170+ which were from India, Philippines, Sudanese & Pakistan and some local Iraq staff.
Improving warehouse management practices, stock control, receiving and issuing of stock, stocktaking, accounts, ordering of stock, rotation of stock, hygiene practices, and transport unloading, temperature log activities on chillers/freezers and quality control.

US Defence Department/Government November 2003 – April 2005 Position: Contract
PROJECT FRAME OBJECTIVES:
Event Source Group in Iraq – Camp Diamond Back Mosul Airfield DFAC Facility Administration Manager.

SCOPE:
Build and managing the facilities at both camp locations in Mosul, and supply support for the United States Military.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
My role that I was employed by The Event Source Group out of Salt Lake City in the USA as the Site Administration Manager at the 101st Airborne Division (H2) Diamond Back Camp DFAC facility at Mosul airfield in Iraq. My key role was that I was the first point of contact with Kellogg’s Brown Root senior management contractor for the site in Iraq.

I was employed as the first point of contact for our subcontractor, which was ABC international facilities management, was the Event Source subcontractor which provide and services the catering requirements to service in the101st Airborne Division DFAC facilities site.

The role was similar to the previous Event Source Group except the staffing numbers. Catering for in excess of 6500+ personnel on the site some 3500 take away mere mite meals 3 times a day and staff of 270+, which were from India, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Pakistan and Maldives’ with some local Iraq staff.
The US government and US Defence department had set KPI which had to be maintained and reached daily and TB Med 530 was the process we had to manage and followed and documented.
Developing and upgrading policies and procedures across the whole area of the DFAC facilities activities and camp environments. Using mentoring processes and training analysis organised training and re-training for staff.
Ensuring HACCP, Food safe procedures were complied with. Oversee daily cleaning schedules, quality control and safe work practices of chemicals as well as maintenance planning, repairs and environmental practices and waste management. Improving warehouse management practices, stock control, receiving and issuing of stock, stocktaking, accounts, ordering of stock, rotation of stock, hygiene practices, and transport unloading, temperature log activities on chillers/freezers and quality control.
Control of all logistics covering purchasing, transport of food, delivery of food, liaison with Clients.

Systematize the budgeting, costing through monitoring and developed controls. Project Site: Sawan Gas Project, Pakistan

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate the construction of two large gas processing trains, site infrastructure, wellheads, gas pipelines, a central control room, two large flare towers, offices, an airport, camp facilities of 100 expats and 4500+ construction Subcontract resident and client accommodation, a medical centre, entertainment venues, camp facilities and amenities, fire station and a laboratory.
• Oversee the construction of the accommodation and numerous social and work-related facilities including a cricket oval with four large lighting towers.
• Liaised with the client to complete the natural gas connection from the Sui Northern and Southern Gas Pipeline for the Pakistan local domestic market.
• Manage the site security, the project fuel account, travel administration, maintenance, power supply, project waste management, waste water treatment plant, onsite water supply and bore fields.
• manage the project logistics for expats travel and local staff requirement, day to day management of both the Administration team for the Clients and or teams and local community issues and subcontracted personnel.
• Overseeing IT communication needs, schedules and costings.
• Ensuring all camp facility camp management subcontractors ensured that HACCP food safe procedures were complied with.
