Summary
I have over 10 years’ diverse experience of teaching in various educational settings including Private International Schools, IB Private Schools, HM Prisons, high schools, community centers, colleges, art galleries and art studios. I am qualified to Masters level, have a BA Hons Degree in Animation and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and have been a fully qualified teacher for over 10 years. I am a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and organised person who has gained invaluable skills and knowledge in all aspects of effective teaching and learning.
I have all of the skills, experience, attributes and qualifications your school is looking for and as a result of my diverse teaching experience and skills I could bring fresh, exciting, innovative and creative ideas to your art department. I am knowledgeable in my field and have experience of teaching GCSE, A Level, IB Visual Arts, Advanced Placement Art Studio to name a few and quick to learn and adapt to new environments, curriculums and programs. To be a part of your art department would be a fantastic opportunity and I would be a dedicated, loyal and driven professional who could create an outstanding art department for the long term.
I have specific experience of working with young people and in particular their mental health. I was responsible for creating a social emotional and wellbeing programme which was implemented into secondary schools across South Wales. I am completely committed to the personal and social development and wellbeing of my students in all of my working environments and have always ensured that their learning experiences are engaging, positive and inspiring. I have the ability to communicate well with everyone I work with and do so in a professional, open, positive, supportive and intelligent manner.

Duties include;
To write, implement and deliver a new and highly effective curriculum for the art department .
Manage a team of 5 specialist Art Teachers which include Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Film and Animation and Drama.
To lead, develop and enhance the practice of other teaching staff in the department and oversee the continuing development and expansion of the department.
Write Schemes of Work, programmes of study, assessment, monitoring and recording procedures including reporting to parents in line with current school practice, and the effective setting and monitoring of homework within the Subject Area.
Hold regular formal weekly department meetings to review, plan and evaluate the work of the Subject Area.
Working In partnership with and form part of the whole of the school academic team.
Represent the Subject Area at all relevant meetings including Heads of Department and impart information to colleagues as required.
Support the School’s endeavours to meet the needs of its community including organising Art Department trips and to contributing to extra-curricular activities such as school plays and after-school activities.
Play an active role in the quality assurance within the art department and review lessons, give feedback and identify professional learning needs within the department.
Contribute to and adhere to international teaching standards.
Liaise with and support other departments through cross-curricular activities.
Organise displays of pupils’ work in the Art Department and around the School.
Promote the school and student work through marketing material of student art exhibitions held within and outside of the school in local art galleries in Shenzhen.
