Challenge: Tapped for a newly created strategic leadership role, bridging the gap between production and sales through launch of a Logistics Department. Charged with eliminating costly inefficiencies based on severe stock-management, distribution, and production-volume issues.

Action & Results:
▪ Cost Reduction & Stock Management – Drove down order loss from 20% to 5% on UHT milk and drove margins up to $2K/ton (from $-1K/ton) on powdered milk by comparing export vs. domestic margins and devising a stock-management system based on that data.
▪ Process Management Implementation and S&OP Dynamics – Implemented process management tools that led to a 3% increase in EBIT by integrating all key areas and departments. Increased productivity by more than 20% and dramatically altered the company culture, enhancing communication between production and sales teams and eliminating functional tunnel vision of processes.
▪ Loss Prevention – Drove up materials reuse rate from 60% to 90% in just 6 months by solving supply-loss issues affecting reverse-logistics activities. Initiative led to multimillion-dollar savings and company becoming the most efficient dairy in terms of material reuse.
