I worked as General Manager -Maintenance and Workshop (Countrywide) with a reputed international firm ASCA Group of Industries Ltd, RT Briscoe PLC, Lagos, Nigeria, where my responsibilities as SBU Head includes running the Aftersales as profit center, maintaining a country wide fleet of 4,500 US made trucks of 40 ton capacity for different applications, and highly sophisticated equipment and state of the art workshops, overseeing logistics operations, as well as establishing and maintaining quality standard processes.

My experience in sales, parts and service & preventative maintenance after sale service and maintenance encompasses heavy and light passenger and commercial vehicles, earth moving equipment, mobile cranes, gantry cranes, straddle carriers fork lift 1 to 40 tons, toe and Ro-Ro truck, generators, compressors, fire and marine pumps, lathe machines, fabrication, erection, fire and general safety, SLA with major fleet companies, NGO and Government entities
My competencies include ability to work efficiently in demanding work environments, knowledge of process & technology, equipment planning, reducing costs, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages and improve the operations, Sales, Service & Parts, systems, policies and procedures, supports better management reporting, business process and organizational planning and educates operation staff/drivers on all policies and procedure;
• Defines and implements overall operations processes for Fleet Management, Claim and Damage Management, etc.;
• Oversees overall financial management, planning, systems and controls for Operation;
• Is responsible for the execution of operational, tactical, and strategic activities on a day-to-day basis;
• Documentation of operations guidelines, checklists, processes and working instructions;
• Recommends changes to processes and technologies to improve productivity;
• Ensures high levels of external and internal customer service, technical expertise, productivity, efficiency and quality in staff performance;
• Conducts activities associated with managing people, including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, performance and salary reviews;
• Prioritize and assign tasks associated to change management and incident management;
• Assists higher management in implementing different processes intended to increase customer satisfaction;
• Provides senior management with analytical reports on operations expenses;
• Monitors insurance and registration of vehicles and ensure that all vehicles are insured and registered on time;
• Monitors and approves vehicle maintenance costs and reports;
• Directs and controls maintenance and ensure all the fleet repair/reconditioning done within time, quality and budget;
• Prepares and monitors vehicle mobilization plan on contract delivery and return;
• Evaluates and recommends vehicle procurement needs and designates and reviews vehicle assignment;
• Monitors and controls fleet required data like tires and batteries replacement history and fuel expenses;
• Identifies underutilized/replacement vehicle and consults with RAC top management to transfer it to CPOV department;
• Delegates employees and supervisors to specific duties on different locations and monitor the fleet activities.
• Provides appropriate career building and professional development activities to ensure a climate of growth for all employee in the department;
• Routinely monitors areas where growth is needed or possible and where existing resources can be further enhanced and helps preparing the Development/Training Plan for the Department, ensuring that performance gaps are covered and professional development is addressed by the Training Plan;
• Is responsible for setting the strategic objectives, KPIs and direction of the department's staff and insure the proper coordination of the TPMS cycle.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional events.
