I am a highly organised, outcome-driven and motivated professional with solid experience in Health and Safety operations. I am currently employed by Wardens Cartage a transport company situated in Durban. In my present role, I am responsible for developing and implementing Health and Safety and risk management initiatives, both site-specific and across the business. It is my responsibility to ensure that all Health and Safety systems OSHAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are up-to-date and adhered to by all employees. I also conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, safety audits and incident and accident investigations, manage PPE. A big part of my job is to conduct safety training across the business, covering chemical and manual handling, PPE, emergency procedures and other safe work practices in line with industry codes of practice. My experience in training has developed my communication skills, enabling me to communicate with people at all levels of the business. I am fully qualified and competent with years of working experience and training, with Certificates, SHEMTRAC, MHS (Mines health and Safety) and NEBOSH International General Certificate. I`m fully committed to my professional development and is currently studying towards my NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
