•Taking ownership of the entire HSE department on the Project
•Provide HSE training and oversee all aspects of HSE project management.
•Manage incident and accident investigations and reporting.
•Identify gaps within response contingencies and put forward proposals to address any identified areas of concern.
•Design, deliver and conduct a gap analysis of multi-agency training exercises to validate emergency arrangements.
•Prepare and present written and/or verbal reports to senior managers regarding their role or emergency planning function.
•Conduct Risk Assessments and develop HSE method statements and local safe work procedures for the Company and its Contractors and ensure their timely application at site.
•Interfacing with sub-contractors and ensuring their HSES management system and security plans are aligned to the project specific needs, change proposals, regulatory compliance and consents.
•With the assistance of the project Procurement Manager ensure all contractors and vendors meet and or exceed the project HSE selection criteria
•Create and deliver HSE training through presentations and briefings.
•Advise personnel and management on HSE issues.
•Perform risk assessments, JHA’s and JSA’s.
•Chair weekly HSE and progress meeting.
•Write and review HSE procedures and plans.
•Developing Traffic management plan and emergency plans
•Ensure environmental regulatory compliance with the World Bank requirements.
•Reviews the results of audit findings and ensures that corrective / preventive actions are implemented, evaluated and shared.
•Ensures that hazardous substances are managed safely and in accordance with local regulations.
