Summary

Have 21 years’ experience in the Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, Quality and Security (SHERQS) field of which 13 years are in Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, Quality and Security (SHERQS) Management, 5 years as a SHERQS Consultant, Training and Software Specialist and 3 years as an Environmental Officer. 
 
Due to the different duties I preformed, I gained knowledge and experience in the following industries: Construction (10 years), Engineering (12 years), Mining (10 years), Petrol Chemicals (4 years), Oil and Gas (11 years), Power Generators (4 years), Hospitals (10 years), Hospitality / Hotel (12 years), Occupational Hygiene (19 years), Automotive (4 years), Pest Control (12 years), Warehousing (11 years), Transportation / Fleet (11 years), Facilities (14 years) and Services (6 years), Manufacturing / Industrial (15 years) and Food (21 years).

Managed client relationships while implementing strategies to improve service levels and efficiency throughout the Organisation to ensure the completion of projects are on time within budget and scope (Project Management)

Identify and manage all strategic and operational risks by employing clearly defined and managed mitigation strategies. Design and implement an overall risk management process in the pursuit of performance objectives (Risk Management).

Identify potential business interruptions and develop safeguards against these interruptions. Safeguard data processing operations by identifying potential problem areas and single points of failure that may result in interruptions to critical data processing operations (Business Continuity).

Manage the development, implementation, communication, monitoring and enforcement of the Fleet Management Plan, ensure that Drivers have valid driver’s licenses, were trained and appointed, implement corrective measures and preventative measures to mitigate / prevent accidents and ensure workshops comply to requirements (Fleet Management)

Manage the development, implementation, communication, monitoring and enforcement of the Facility Management Plan. Ensure facilities comply with the Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, Building Regulations, R918 and the Health Act. Conduct weekly walk-abouts to identify non-conformance. Ensure the development and implementation of corrective actions (repair, maintenance, construction, etc.). Involved in the movement, new development and close down of facilities (Facilities Management).

Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the Contract Management Plan to ensure services rendered by the Service Providers (Contractors) and quality of the products provided by the Suppliers met legislation requirements. Ensure client requirements are delivered and disputes and penalties are avoided. Perform ongoing contract reviews and analyze time, quality, costs, profit and risks per project (Contractor Management)

Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the Food Safety Management Program to ensure all meals served are safe for human consumption (e.g. served 21 000 meals, a day, at Kazakhstan)

Manage the identification of an organization's assets (including people, buildings, machines, systems and information assets), followed by the development, documentation, and implementation of policies and procedures for protecting these assets (Security Management)

Provided operational direction and manage the development, implementation, communication, monitoring, reviewing and enforcement of the SHERQS (including medical and industrial hygiene) Strategy and - Objectives to ensure compliance to all SHERQS Legislation (OHS Act, MHS Act, etc.), Governance Structure, Corporate Requirements, etc. to eliminate incidents. I made sure that the SHERQS Strategy and - Objectives are integrated into the operational practices of the Organisation through the implementation of a dynamic and effective SHERQS Management System, thus enabling effective risk management, monitoring and continual improvement of SHERQS Performance - Implementation of the Stop Work Authority to eliminate or mitigate incidents. Provided operational direction and managed the development, implementation, communication, monitoring and reviewing of SHERQS Plans and Safety Improvement Plans.
Conducted analyses of SHERQS data to develop and implement SHERQS Programs / Strategies to improve SHERQS Performance and to eliminate incidents. Compile statistical and monthly SHERQS Management Reports.

Have been a guest speaker for the “Department of Labour” and “SIEFSA”, have written SHERQS articles for “Occupational Risk Magazine” and have been the SHERQS Consultant and Trainer for SAFCEC members.
Developed various SHERQS Learning / Training Programs which were accredit by Health and Welfare Seta (HWSETA). I am an Assessor and a Moderator registered with Health and Welfare SETA.
 
I am a registered Environmental Health Officer with the “South African Medical and Dental Council”. I am a registered Auditor for ISO 9001, a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and a Lead Auditor for OHSAS 18001.
