As Techlift, coordinating between Client, Management Team, Heavy Lift, Shipping, Civil and Mechanical Contractors. Responsible for reviewing and approval of all Heavy Lift Contractors lifting, transport and jacking procedures. Verification and supervision of crane, transport and jacking operations. Management of all “Test Inspection Records”. Responding to lifting contractors technical queries regarding mechanical and civil issues. Participating in hazard identification workshops, safety circles and taps route investigations. Completing and review of feasibility studies, checking crane capacities, locations, and elevations for clashes and transport route clearances. Onsite equipment included 800, 600, 400 & 350 tonne Crawler Cranes, 192 Lines of Self Propelled Modular Trailers, 48 Lines of Multi Axle Conventional Trailers, Heavy Lift, RO-RO and Wide Deck Vessels and 1000 tonne Hydraulic Jacking Arrangements. The project involved the shipping, transportation and lifting of over 350 heavy items including vessels up to 420te, PAR’s up to 300te and PAU’s up to 2000te.

2007 - 2008 Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Limited (Oil & Gas)
Senior Construction Engineer - Heavy Lift (RCCU Revamp Project, Statoil, Mongstad, Norway)

As Techlift, management of heavy lift, transport, shipping and rigging activities for a major RCCU revamp. Providing onsite planning and management before and during the revamp of the Regenerator and Reactor. Producing pre-tender documentation, full tender requisitions, lift studies, method statements, risk assessments for all lifting activities and review / evaluation of crane, shipping and transport contractors proposals. Producing and presenting HAZID/HAZOP presentations, overseeing and coordinating of load outs, crane erection and lifting and transport operations. Completing the set-up and operation of an onsite rigging store along with lifting equipment inspection and verification. Operations included the load out / offload, transport and placement of the New Regenerator Head weighing 400 tonnes. Some of the onsite equipment included 1350 tonne Crawler Crane (LR11350), 36 Lines of Self Propelled Modular Trailers, Jumbo Shipping Heavy Lift Vessel and 150 tonne Strand Jacking System.

2006 - 2007 Bechtel International (Mining & Minerals)
Senior Rigging Engineer (Alcoa, Fjardaal Aluminium Smelter Project, Iceland)

As Techlift, planning and supervision of Critical, Heavy and Medium lifts including production of lifting studies, drawings, calculations, method statements and safe job analysis. Providing onsite crane and rigging training for Icelandic and Polish supervision and trades. Lifting equipment inspection / verification and onsite testing of overhead travelling cranes prior to operation. Responsible for onsite assembly and installation of equipment modules to the Anode Rodding Building. Operations included the offload and positioning of a 600 tonne Hartmann Vacuum Ship Unloader and the transportation and lifting to position of various modules over 200 tonne. Some of the onsite equipment included 600 tonne Crawler Crane (CC2800), 48 Lines of Self Propelled Modular Trailers, Strand Jacking and Skid Systems, Heavy Lift Vessels and a large number of Mobile and Crawlers.

2005 - 2006 Abnormal Load Engineering (Oil & Gas)
Heavy Lift Specialist (FCCU Shutdown, BP Coryton Refinery, Essex UK)

As Techlift, providing onsite supervision and coordination of all heavy lifts and transport during the shutdown. Operations included the transportation and lifting of the 300 tonne New Reactor Vessel and 250 tonne New Regenerator Head. Some of the onsite equipment included a 1200 tonne Strut Jib Pedestal Crane (Gottwald 912), 48 Lines of Self Propelled Modular Trailers and 600 tonne Jacking / Weighing Equipment.

As Techlift, acting as third party consultant to evaluate review and sign off on all contractors lifting proposals and method statements. On site coordination and supervision to verify all lifting operations comply with Shell regulations and procedures. Lifting equipment inspection and verification prior to lifting operations. Verify all training documentation for crane operators and rigging personnel. Some of the onsite equipment included up to 60 Mobile Telescopic Cranes, 1000 tonne Pedestal Crane, Mersey Mammoth 250 tonne Floating Crane and 500 tonne Jacking and Skidding System.
