Summary

My name is Fawad Shah and I am 32 years of age Pakistani national. I am New Zealand qualified, trained and Certified Professional Counsellor and Addiction Practitioner. I have extensive professional counselling experience in the field of holistic counselling and treatment, working 1:1 with individuals and groups from various cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds in various settings. This experience extends over 9 years of professional counselling practice between New Zealand, Pakistan and Thailand.
I consider myself as a creative therapist who possesses excellent written and oral communication as well as people skills. I am self-starter with ability to take initiative and multi task efficiently. I have experienced writing comprehensive assessments and collaboratively developing individualised tailor-made treatment plans, with timely reviews.

I am passionate and highly motivated about working and supporting young people and their families who are experiencing and dealing with emotional, psychological, interpersonal and addiction problems/challenges in their lives. As it provides them an opportunity to bring about lasting positive and healthy changes in their lives.

I possess relevant tertiary qualifications and vast experience working with individuals and their family in various different sectors/settings/services. I have learned a lot from my work experience and it has helped in shaping up my counselling style/practice.
