I am a MCI trained Montessori teacher with 6 years teaching experience currently living and working in Barbados.I am a reliable, innovative, hardworking teacher that is dedicated to guiding each student reach their full potential. After studying and working in the creative industry I realized that my passion was working with children and I embarked on a 2 year MCI distance learning course. I have lived and worked all over the world (Oman, UAE, Bali, Barbados and England) and enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures. I have recently completed an online course for Special Education Needs, supplementing and enhancing my qualifications.

Head Montessori Teacher and Head of Infant Department.
The lead teacher in the Montessori class with up to 40 children aged between 3-6 years. I am responsible for the daily running of the classroom, presentations of materials, record keeping and preparing the children for primary school. I manage and support 8 members of staff, delegate roles, create schedules, run a training programe for assistants and regular staff reviews. I provide support to the Reception staff ensuring the Montessori methods are introduced into the curriculum, enabling a seamless transition to Montessori. Along with my daily teaching role, I liaise with the school Principle, primary school department heads, and sit on the board of the PTA. I also work closely with outside support agencies; an Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapist and a Speech and Language Therapist to ensure any child that may require extra support has an action plan in place to assist their learning in class, during sessions with the therapist and at home.

Teaching Practice
I worked in all areas of the nursery as part of my teacher training. I initially shadowed a teacher, who encouraged and supported me to teach my own groups in circle time and give presentations of the apparatus. I also worked for a few weeks in March & October 2013 as work experience.
