The projects I am involved in is The Royal Atlantis Project, a Hotel and Residences project located at the Palm Jumeirah, with a budget of AED 3.5B and composed of 6 interconnected cores with the highest at 46 storeys.

Currently seconded to DEC Dynamic Engineering Consultants, the Engineer of Records/Architect of Records of the Royal Atlantis project, and involved generally in the post contract administration from payments, variations and claims, provisional sums and value engineering and contractual advice and letters, in coordination with the Project Manager, Cost Consultant and the Client. In accordance with the conditions of the Main Contractor’s Contract, I have arranged the process and created the workflows for the interim certificates, instructions and variations that is now being followed by other consultants and client, and drafted a standard letter for the Engineer’s Notification of Provisional Sums which was accepted by the Client and their third-party consultant.

The projects I was involved was generally the development of the Jumeirah Lakes Towers, which includes JLT-Roads and Infrastructure Works including the 4 Lakes [AED 500M], JLT-Landscaping Works [AED 100M], JLT–3/4 Levels Parking & Garage in 25 Clusters (3&4 Levels) [AED 1.2B], JLT-Retail Area Works in 25 Clusters (2 Levels) [AED 250M], 360m high Almas Tower (5B+G+70) [AED 815M], Gold & Silver Towers (B+G+44 Twin Towers) [AED 420M], Jewellery & Gemplex (3-Industrial Buildings) [AED 120M], JLT-Emergency Sewer System (connecting to DM) [AED 75M], Central Park [AED 60M], One JLT (2B+G+14 Commercial Building with 4 Levels Parking Building) [AED 260M] and various Office Fit-Out Projects in different towers for Leasing Department [ranging from AED 3M – AED 12M].

Generally, I was responsible for the Pre and Post Contract Administration for the various projects under the Property Department who are responsible for all the projects and development of the Company. This shall include but not limited to budget preparation and recommendation (CAPEX & OPEX), tendering, contract preparation and sign-off, payments, variations, claims, potential risks, provisional sums, nominated subcontractors, value engineering, contractual letters, monthly project contract status and cost reports including administering the contract of the Project Manager and the Consultants. Lead the thorough review of the overall JLT Projects Budget with an approximate total amount of AED 6B, which is a coordination of the Property Department, Finance Department and the current Consultants, and had successfully managed to reduce by more than AED 300M.

The project I was involved was the: - (a) Almas Tower located in JLT, composed of 5B+G+64 Leasable Levels+3 Service Floors (at 2 level height), final contract amount of AED 706M; and (b) Dubai Mixed Used Development located in SZR, composed of a Residential and Hotel Tower, with a contract amount of AED 1B.

I am responsible for the post contract administration of the main contract and all subcontracts which includes payments, variations, claims, bonds and insurances, and including the weekly and monthly cost reports, i.e., accomplishment, labour allocations, and material stocks. I have supervised 4 Quantity Surveyors and provide me support in each task as required.

I am responsible for the post contract administration of all contracts from payment, variations, claims and time extensions, contractor’s bonds and insurances, and including the monthly progress cost reports. I have successfully endorsed the response to the contractor’s claim from the previous infrastructure contractor to the Client (Office of the Crowned Prince of Qatar) and managed to reduced from QR 275M to QR 10M.
