Summary

-With over 25 years in various sectors of the mechanical engineering field, experience include open cast mining, fabrication and maintenance of various heat exchangers and boilers in the petro-chemical environment, equipment maintenance in flat steel production and maintenance service in glass manufacturing.

-Extensive exposure to crushers, conveying systems (belt- , screw- and bucket type), heat exchangers, boilers and finned coolers, to mention some. Complex developments and fabrications from pre-approved drawings and to specified code of construction.

-Plan, organize, coordinate and control all Production related functions pertaining to the Fabrication and Pre-assembly of Ducting and Coal Feed Bunkers for the Kusile Power Project.

-Welding Coordinator/Superintendent for the Anglo SO2 Abatement Project in Polokwane.

-Assisting the Welding Engineer on assigned projects in the Petro-Chemical Industry.

Welding;
-Assist Welding Engineer with his duties and oversee all welding technical queries and do problem solving for welding related issues.
-Assist in theoretical and practical training / development sessions for welders, foremen and QC.
-Ensure welders are qualified and updated as per code requirement and procedures are in place.
-Ensure weld sequences and method statements are provided for all jobs and are up to date.
-Assist quality department with writing of works instructions, performing internal and external audits.
-Keep updated statistics for welders and per project.
-Ensure compliance with regards to WeldPac – weld cards issued before the job starts, completed and data fed back into WeldPac.
-Ensure all welding consumables, welding procedure and welder qualification registers and indices are updated for monthly audits.

Production;
-Manage scheduled meetings to determine and track Production Progress.
-Ensure that all relevant logistical support are in place for subordinates to execute their task with excellence (material and equipment).
- Report on and recommend welding production improvement methods.
-Manage performance of Supervision including setting of KPI’s.
-Optimize production flow to achieve maximum throughput as determined by our clients.
-Support the Production Team by eliminating or minimizing constraints.
-Formally and timeously report to the Management Team on all aspects of Welding Production.

Safety;
-Enforce compliance to all prescribed HSE procedures and policies.
-Take responsibility and ensure employee welfare.
-Assist and control all aspects regarding Safety audits, Incident reporting and investigation.
