Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer with 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas/Shipbuilding industry with the most recent achievements being the successful delivery of 8 new build 6th and 7th generation Drillships with Ocean Rig.
During this I was involved in the complete construction process from specification/design reviews, factory acceptance testing, mechanical completions, commissioning, FMEA’s, system integration testing and client acceptance testing.
I also have extensive management experience including the management of up to 20 E&I Inspectors and rig crew at a time, I have also managed projects such as the ship network/communications system installation and commissioning, ship UHF system (Digital and Analogue) installation and commissioning, dynamic positioning system upgrades, helideck monitoring system installation and commissioning and client acceptance testing, during all of the projects I was also responsible for the sourcing of equipment required.

Supervision of the electrical inspection team and Electrical operations team, organizing mechanical completions of the systems right through to managing and carrying out the E&I commissioning of the vessels.

Review of the initial specifications and contract, drawing reviews, engineering changes, FMEA and drilling integration test procedure improvements to comply with the most recent class society rules as per specification (Both ABS and DNV).

Review and engineering improvements to the high voltage protective device coordination study, upgrades to the DP system, review of short circuit calculations, electrical load analysis and power management system improvements including design changes to black out recovery sequences and recovery time improvements.

Implementation of the Ex register and inspections as per IEC 61892 including carrying out inspections, recording inspection results and reporting of defects found into the focus system.

Work with the ship yard to implement a preservation plan for the vessels including schedule and procedures following vendor and supplier recommendations, carrying out preservation inspections and reporting defects/non conformities.
