Package #7 forms part of the AED 3 billion “Jewel of the Creek” development. When complete it will be a multi-use development, which includes four and five star hotels, furnished service apartments, a convention centre, a ballroom, office buildings, residential buildings, and a marina and landscaping.
HLG’s scope of work on the project includes:
• Construction of all rafts and four-level basement slabs;
• Construction of the project’s ground floor slab;
• Embedded MEP works (first fix);
• Miscellaneous earthworks, re-anchoring of diaphragm walls, pile cutting and trimming, waterproofing works and reinforced concrete works.

Role and Responsibility

I was responsible for development and implementation of HSE Management plan in line with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18000, ISPRL Contract requirements, PESO and other legal requirements for construction of Underground rock caverns to store crude oil. The Rock Cavern is constructed approx. 60 meters below sea level with one access tunnel, four Rock Caverns, two water curtain, four vertical 80 meters shaft and Pipelines. The site was equipped with emergency response facility in line with mining requirements. The Site received “Best Site for the Year 2010-2011” and several HSE awards from ISPRL, Government of India.
Four Under Ground Rock Caverns, (A wholly owned subsidiary of OIDB) Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India (dimension 700 mtr x 36 mtr x 20 mtr is constructed for “Strategic storage of Crude Oil” at Padur Karnataka, India.
