2. I participated in the formulation of transformational strategies to tackle the company’s growth challenges. These resulted in sustained improvement in the company’s performance of the company. For the period 2003 to 2011, sales growth of 247% was achieved and pre-tax profit grew by 761%. The Net profit percent increased from 4% to 16% of sales.
3. I adopted treasury measures which ensured that the company did not borrow funds and rather generated sufficient funds for its operations. The company did not use any loan or overdraft facility under my management but rather had surplus funds which were utilized for prudent investment.
4. I implemented staff restructuring successfully in 2003 and 2004 reducing staff in the finance and administration department from 40+ to 14. The performance of the department was not adversely affected but rather improved tremendously as a result of the restructure.
5. I contributed to the successful implementation of Accpac accounting system in 2003 and the SAP All-in-One system from 2009 to 2010.
6. Successful Human Resource management
7. I met management reporting deadlines including Board meetings regularly.
8. Timelines for annual external audit were met consistently under my leadership.
9. I had successful VAT and Income tax audits conducted by the Botswana Unified Revenue Service.
10. My interventions resulted in the efficiency achieved at the company’s warehouse and distribution centre. Timely distribution of merchandise commands utmost attention. Merchandise is delivered to the stores promptly resulting in improved stock turns in the stores.
11. I successfully took steps to minimize the company’s foreign exchange exposure.
12. Proven ability to liaise, communicate and make presentation at the highest level. This is evidenced by my participation in Board meetings since 1995. Participated actively at discussions at the Board and other meetings. Recorded minutes of the Board meetings enthusiastically and capably.
13. Successful training and development of team members resulting in team members ability to deliver in my absence or with my minimum intervention.
