 As an owner’s engineer, I planned and managed the Amman-Jordan Middle East's installations, operation and maintenance activities of two power plants; a $360 million simple-cycle heavy fuel oil/gas-fired power plant (250 megawatts) and a $300 million (380 megawatts) CCGT (Ansaldo gas turbine and Fuji steam turbine) power plant, and ensured that both plants operational performance was optimized and ensuring the Power Purchase Agreement was not breached.
 I managed a power generation control room, operation team that delivered monthly power generation sales of more than $10 million, and generates more than 90% of plant dependable capacity.
 I was the shift in charge of the power generation/operation team and led 48 power plant operation professionals, and supervised the control room activities, root cause analysis of power generation defects, and continuous improvements using Lean Six Sigma.
 I took charge of critical decision making and most times, acted as the plant manager where I championed Health, Safety, and Environment as the day/night shifts highest priority to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
 I examined accidents to obtain data that can be used to design adequate preventive measures, as well as created, updated, and maintained standard operating procedures.
 I prepared technical scopes of work, correspondence, and documentation that supported effective design, development, and implementation of power station engineering change packages, and supervised log sheet records, BOP parameters and daily reports.
 I provided engineering support including training to field, operations and improvement engineers and supervised all Lockout and Tagout activities of safety.
 I led the setup and operation of The AES Corporations Amman business units and collected data on root causes of failures, process variations, and defects, and created improvement measure to improve performance.
 I directed operation and maintenance activities of the power plants to ensure efficiency and conformity to safety standards, and delegated assignments to subordinate team leaders.
 I identified process inefficiencies through gap analysis and benchmarking, and recommended/initiated improvement measures
 I was responsible for increased annual revenue by 10% by recommending improvements in efficiency using the CCGT fogging systems improvement project.
