Project Name: BGC (Basrah Gas Company) Gas Project.
My job in west Qurna 1 (gas compression stations CS-7 and CS-8) included:
• Doing instrument site surveys as requested by client and Wood’s engineering discipline, and sending the requested information to the engineering team in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
• Supervision and monitoring of uninstallation/stripping of field instruments and sending them to other contractor for servicing.
• Supervision of instrument destruction and construction works (such as: new panels installation, cable laying, installation of fire & gas devices, installation of gas compressor instruments,….etc).
• Any activities requested by the client.
• Providing technical support in the field for other construction contractors.
• I also worked for a short period in Wood’s main office in Basrah (Burjesiya-AMBP) as a senior instrument engineer in the engineering discipline. My job included issuing the usual engineering deliverables issued by instrument discipline and reviewing some of the documents before it was issued by other engineers/designers.
