I am a 24-year-old graduate from Newcastle University with a degree in Mathematics and a foundation course in Engineering. I am currently working as an accountant in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have a love of the outdoors and am looking for a job that reflects that. Given the current environmental urgencies I want to play my part in influencing changes to the way we live in order to reduce our impact on the climate.
My mathematics degree covered a wide range of topics including forecasting, computing and statistical analysis. It also included project work and group work with elements of presenting and report writing.
Prior to studying for my mathematics degree I took a foundation year in engineering. This gave me a broad knowledge of many engineering disciplines, from electrical to chemical.

My primary role was an accountant. The majority of my time was spent dealing with clients and using various computer programs. It was a small, family owned company so I was often the only accountant and adopted more office management responsibilities. This gave me great experience in communication and organisation, which I believe can be transferred to most other situations. Another transferable skill I learnt here was efficiency. Most client data needed to be analysed and re-organised to get the job done quickly and accurately.
